Recently on Twitter, I have been in contact with @lilnerdette who is a fresh face on the ever-growing blogging scene. She is participating in the 31 days to Building a Better Blog challenge at problogger.net. I’m starting a bit late, so I hope to get caught up to the current challenge of the day by Saturday morning.
Day 1’s lesson involves writing a short (100-150 words) pitch for your blog. Here’s mine:
The main purpose of dastardly-deeds.com is to help me sharpen my skills as a writer and network with other like-minded writers. I cover a variety of topics, including but not limited to: social situations, politics, gay rights/issues, geek chic, my addiction to LOLCats, and chain emails from my mom. Have you ever wondered what goes on in the life and mind of a 27-year old man who feels like he’s already having a mid-life crisis? If so, then look no further!
When I started this blog in 2006, I had no purpose but to see if I could blog. Now that I know I can, I have to do something more specific if I want to achieve a broader audience. I think today’s “homework” has really helped me think about exactly what it is I’m trying to do here.
